Gentlemen,

Last week, the Minister of Defense issued an order declassifying all of the SECRET documents located in both the TsAMO and the Naval Archives.
With the previous two decrees, the total number of documents released was estimated at 1 million. With this new order, an estimated 4 million documents will now be released.

Currently several Russians are attempting to verify this order and if this would reflect any changes in the TsAMO.

To test the new policy, I personnally requested through a third party researcher all of the strength and loss reports for the 1st Byelorussian Front and its subordinate Armies for 1-10 May 1945.

I think this would be a boom to DPI.

If I know anything further, I will let you know.

Regards,

That's good news, but it'll still be very expensive - the archivists have to eat, you know!
