As I have participated in this RMZ forum discussion but have been hampered by lack of reliable casualty data (the data points I published I have taken largely from this forum here) I would be really interested in what the experts here think of that discussion.

Interesting set of notes from everyone. I think what is lost here is the German Army Commanders Aversion towards two types of German Officers; Intelligence Officers and Logistics Officers. For the most part they were the most hated of all officers in the German officer corps. Like the Soviet Army, those that were going out the door ended up intelligence officers.

I just don't think the Prussian thinking was down in the weeds on counting beans nor casualties, they were more interested in results, not into details of 'stuff.'
