Has anyone ever seen a map of the German attack plan? I have maps of the III Panzer Corps attack plan, the Corps Raus attack plan, but nothing for the XLVIII Panzer Corps, the SS Panzer Corps, or the Fourth Panzer Army. Am I missing something?

The SS have maps for most days of the battle showing left and right boundaries for the Corps. Have those and plan to insert them all in the book. But, there does not appear to a map of the Fourth Panzer Army's plan.

As I usually use to the US Archives, I am guessing that RS2-2/33 is the same as T354.

Hi Chris.

I've always been fascinated (amorally, that is!) over Kursk. It seems, overall, the Soviets didn't need to win - just not lose! Hence, this 'defensive stance' by such a preponderance of men and material.

I look forward to joining discussions, as well as seeing your book sometime.

Maybe this would help, if not already known to you guys? The whole site and its plethora of links is quite invaluable for such quantitative detail regarding battle orders and stats, etc. I don't know if it can answer your question with clarity.

James

Thanks. I had not seen the site before, although I have seen a lot of these maps before. Some of them are in my book (seeing how all the Soviet stuff is public domain).

Don't have a date yet for when the book will be published, but it is over at the editors. May come in at around 1,300 pages, which needless to say, scared away a few publishers.

Most of the Soviet maps I have in the book are from the various Tank Armies, so are maps that, as far as I know, have not been published before.
