Hi everybody

I'm a newbie here. I'm looking for any info I can get about the HG PZ Div. during the period Jan/Feb 44. Actually any info on unit histories, OOB and TO&E that can be provided for the Anzio battle would be much appreciated.

The only "unit" history worth anything is the translation of the 14 AOK KTB that may be found at http://
carlisle-www.army.mil/usamhi/ (you need to look under "research materials" and World War II. However, that is a PDF document and an Army website, so it can be a pain. Another version, in MSWord, is available at Jason Long's excellent website (okay, so he is an old friend of ours, but it is an excellent site ) http://members.tripod.com/~Sturmvogel/Panzerkeil.html

The records of 14 AOK are also complete (more or less) on microfilm at the US National Archives, and include the KTB and Anlagen, but you need access to the archives and a good knowledge of German military documents to make much sense of them.

If you need data on strengths and losses of personnel and equipment I may be able to help, let me know what you need.

Thanks a million. This info is priceless, particularly the 14 AOK "unit history".

Yeah, unit strengths would be a definite bonus.

Thanks again

Was the HG Panzer-FJ still in any way an airborne formation after it's conversion to a Panzer Division?

Also, does anyone know if the commando style training that the original Hermann-Goering Regiment went through was still carried out by the time the formation had reached this form?
