I am looking at using QJM-like (ie scores, modifiers, ratios, spreadsheet level) models for assisting seminar-wargames.

However, the scale of participants are likely to be platoon to batallion level. I suspect there are many issues here with regard to attrition, but Im working on those.

My question is whether there are 'simple models' to adjudicate whether one force detects another (or more accurately, detects, recognises and/or identifies), and whether the detected force can successfully evade, as a function of the force mix (armour, infantry, artillery) and size of both sides and terrain?

This seems more applicable to battles of these sizes, so was wondering if models had been constructed.
