In NP&W, Punishment Factor is derived by ((Weight/4)x((Weightx2)^(1/2))), with minor modifications for type. In the follow on work, has this been changed significantly, and if so, in what way? Thanks, Terry

The formula for armor OLIs has been changed extensively for the TNDM. The old formula put too much emphasis on tube size and wieght, and not enough for other design factors. This was fine for WWII armor, but not really the best for modern armor. As such, the formula was revised and these changes are discussed in Volume 1, No 6. of the International TNDM Newsletter. The problem with the revision is that the revised scores were calibrated to the old OLIs scores for modern tanks. As such, when one uses the system for scoring WWII tanks, one finds that they produce scores about half of what the old OLIs did. What needs to be done is to have the new formula revised and calibrated so as to be useable for WWII tanks. In the interim, we use the old OLI formula for WWII engagements and the new one for modern.
