In Newsletter Volume 1 Number 6 on page 30 a new formula for calculating PF is provided: 1.2 x Armor Type x Weight / (2 x Height x Length)Assuming that the Armor Type modifier in WW2 is 1.0 I calculate that the PF for an M4 Sherman is 1.14. This is approximately 50 times less than the PF produced using the original formula in NPW. Am I missing something? Thanks, Neil

Well, I think you need to keep reading. The article on page 32 "AFV Values in the TNDM" explains the problem, and it is the same as you spotted. In correcting the modern OLI values for AFVs (so the T-72 would not be the world's best tank), we created a problem with the WWII armor. The solution (see the article on page 34) is to use the old OLI system (as per NPW) for WWII armor and save the new OLI system for modern armor (lets say 1980s and on). The model was validated for WWII engagements using the old armor values. That was true with our recent re-validation effort that we did using division-level data that is published in our newsletter Volume III, and No. 2 (which I can send you...we have not posted the latest two newsletters on-line yet).
